KJAZZ 88.1 🇺🇸

KJAZZ 88.1 FM, located in Long Beach, California, began broadcasting in 1981 as KLON, operated by California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). The station changed its call letters to KJAZZ in 2002 to clearly identify its jazz format. In 2006, KJAZZ became an independent non-profit organization, separating from CSULB and gaining greater autonomy. Saul Levine acquired KJAZZ in 2013, bringing stability to the station. KJAZZ 88.1 FM provides diverse jazz programming, including specialty shows focusing on Latin jazz, big band music, blues, and vocal jazz. The station broadcasts live performances from local jazz clubs and festivals and features interviews with jazz musicians and historians, enriching Southern California's cultural landscape.
