Oneida, Herkimer, and Madison Counties utilize advanced radio systems for seamless communication among law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, and other critical public safety agencies. These counties have transitioned to P25 digital trunked radio systems, operating on 700/800 MHz frequencies, ensuring efficient coordination during emergencies and maintaining crucial situational awareness. Oneida County's system encompasses the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, local police departments like Utica and Rome, various fire departments, EMS agencies, the County Emergency Management, and the Department of Public Works.
