WDOM, broadcasting on 91.3 FM, stands as a cornerstone of Providence College campus life. Established in 1949, the station provides students with hands-on experience in broadcasting, music, and media production. Entirely managed and operated by Providence College students, WDOM's programming reflects the diverse tastes of its student DJs, spanning indie rock, alternative, hip-hop, electronic, pop, and jazz. WDOM also features talk shows covering sports, current events, campus news, and interviews. Live broadcasts include Providence College sports games, concerts, and campus events. The station is overseen by a student executive board responsible for setting policies, recruiting staff, managing the budget, and ensuring FCC compliance. A faculty advisor offers guidance to the student management team. Departments include programming, music, news, sports, engineering, and promotions. Students gain practical experience in radio broadcasting, develop skills in communication, public speaking, teamwork, and technical areas, build a portfolio, and network with professionals.
