The Radio Corporation of America (RCA), founded in 1919, was a pivotal force in the early development of radio broadcasting. RCA was initially established to ensure American control over radio communications. Though not operating a station named "Radio RCA", its impact was immense. RCA became a major manufacturer of radio receivers, branded with the RCA logo, making them a staple in American homes during the Golden Age of Radio. In 1926, RCA acquired WEAF from AT&T, establishing the National Broadcasting Company (NBC). NBC was divided into the NBC Red Network, focusing on entertainment, and the NBC Blue Network, dedicated to news and cultural programming. David Sarnoff, a key figure, rose to lead RCA, recognizing radio's potential and driving the creation of NBC. RCA's innovations in broadcasting and receiver technology helped to fuel radio's golden age.
