Travis County Police 🇺🇸

Law enforcement in Travis County is managed by multiple agencies, including the Travis County Sheriff's Office (TCSO), Austin Police Department (APD), various city police departments (Pflugerville, Lakeway, West Lake Hills), the University of Texas Police Department (UTPD), and constables. TCSO primarily utilizes a P25 digital trunked radio system, employing talkgroups for specific units such as patrol deputies in different areas (North, South, East, West), detectives, SWAT, and jail communications. APD also operates on a P25 digital trunked radio system, using talkgroups for dispatch, patrol officers in various districts (Adam, Baker, Charlie, David), special units (SWAT, K9, Air Support, Lake Patrol) and investigations. Both TCSO and APD use encryption on certain talkgroups for sensitive communications. Smaller city police departments and UTPD maintain their own radio systems, which might be analog or digital, while constables use radio systems related to their duties.
