WCRB 🇺🇸

WCRB, broadcasting on 99.5 FM, has been a cornerstone of classical music in the Boston area since the 1940s. Originally owned by Charles River Broadcasting, hence the call letters, 'CRB', WCRB pioneered bringing classical music to the Boston airwaves. In 2009, GBH Educational Foundation (formerly WGBH) acquired WCRB, ensuring the preservation of classical music radio in the region. WCRB's programming includes a mix of core classical repertoire by composers such as Bach, Beethoven and Mozart, along with less frequently heard works and contemporary pieces. WCRB provides access to full-length concert recordings and broadcasts live performances from local orchestras, like the Boston Symphony Orchestra. WCRB also offers on-demand listening through its website and broadcasts in HD Radio, offering a high quality audio signal.
