WMBC (University of Maryland Baltimore County) 🇺🇸

WMBC is entirely operated by UMBC students, providing real-world experience in media, communications, and related fields. As an online radio station, WMBC broadcasts its content over the internet, accessible through the WMBC website and potentially mobile apps. It offers diverse programming, including music focusing on alternative, indie, local, and underground genres, and student-hosted talk shows covering campus news, current events, sports, and social issues. WMBC also broadcasts live UMBC Retrievers sporting events with play-by-play commentary, and features specialty shows dedicated to gaming, movies, books, and cultural topics, alongside public service announcements. WMBC provides training in radio production, on-air presentation, journalism, management, and marketing. As an official UMBC student organization, WMBC receives university support, including access to studio space, equipment, and funding.
