WUSC FM & HD1 Columbia 🇺🇸

WUSC-FM, broadcasting on 90.5 FM, stands as the University of South Carolina's vibrant student-run radio station, offering a diverse range of programming on its main FM signal and simulcast on WUSC-HD1. Unlike commercial stations, WUSC showcases an eclectic mix of indie rock, alternative rock, electronic music, hip hop, world music, and, crucially, local Columbia and South Carolina artists. Primarily operated by University of South Carolina students, WUSC provides hands-on experience in DJing, programming, production, news reporting, public affairs, and station management. This invaluable training ground has launched many alumni into successful media careers. WUSC actively engages with the Columbia community through supporting local bands, sponsoring events, airing public service announcements, and covering local news often overlooked by mainstream media. As a non-commercial station, WUSC is supported by the University of South Carolina, listener donations, and fundraising events, ensuring its commitment to alternative voices and cultural enrichment.
