WVCW 🇺🇸

WVCW is the student-run radio station at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Virginia, providing students with hands-on experience in broadcasting, journalism, music, and media production. Entirely operated by VCU students, WVCW covers everything from programming and on-air talent to management, marketing, and technical operations. WVCW's programming features alternative music, including indie, underground genres and local Richmond bands. They offer variety shows, news, sports coverage, and specialty music shows, created and hosted by students. WVCW highlights events and issues relevant to the VCU community and the city of Richmond. Primarily an online radio station, WVCW streams through its website (wvcw.org) and various platforms, extending its reach beyond campus. WVCW serves as a training ground for on-air, production, technical, management, and marketing skills. They cover local events, interview local artists, and partner with local organizations. As a recognized student organization, WVCW receives official support from VCU.
